Deloitte Consulting LLP is seeking a Security and Logistics Manager to support the West Africa Energy Program (WAEP). WAEP is an integral initiative of Power Africa, a USAID-coordinated initiative that is bringing together technical and legal experts, the private sector, and governments from around the world to work in partnership to help West Africa expand supply of and access to affordable and reliable grid-connected electricity services through technical assistance, capacity building and transaction support.
The WAEP Security and Logistics Manager (SLM) will function at the operational and tactical levels, acting as the focal point for security management for this large, complex project. The project team will include more than 40 advisors across West Africa, with most living in Accra, Ghana and others based in other capital cities in the region. Many team members will travel frequently throughout West Africa and will require advance risk assessments and risk mitigation support. This position will be based in Accra, Ghana, with travel throughout the West Africa region.
The SLM reports to the Deloitte US Security and project leadership regarding daily security operations, significant security-related incidents (including events that do not directly impact WAEP), critical event planning, the management of risk related policies, plans and protocols. Key functions of the SLM position include:

- Prepare a weekly Situation Report with an updated assessment of security concerns in Accra, Ghana, and other locations where the project has ongoing operations.
- Update incident tracker on an as-needed basis, with a summary report to be included in the weekly Situation Report
Required Skills or Experience
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English and relevant languages. French language skills strongly preferred.
- Effective analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Law enforcement or corporate security experience
- Accredited training and qualifications in risk management
- An effective and credible instructor
- Strong logistics administrative skills and qualifications
- Ability to work with both leaders, peers and subordinates in an effective and polite manner
- Ability to work effectively with external stakeholders
- Ability to offer concise and effective recommendations to the project Leaders before, during and after a crisis
- Ability to understand and follow directions effectively
