GENERAL ELIGIBILITY FOR 2020 MEDICAL CANDIDATES RECRUITMENT/ENLISTMENT INTO THE GHANA ARMED FORCES
Eligible applicant should:
- Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
- Be of good character.
- Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years for Medical Specialists, 35 years for Medical/Dental Officers, 33 years for Nurses and 30 years for Paramedical personnel by 10 January 2019, or as otherwise specified.
- Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces Standard.
- Be not bonded.
- Be of minimum height of 1.68m (5` 6“) for males and 1.57m (5` 2“) for females.
- Must have the following:
BECE
Must have six (6) Passes at BECE including English and Mathematics.
WASSCE
Six credits. (Not less than C6) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science
SSSCE
Six credits. (Not less than D) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science
GCE ‘O’ Level / GCE ‘A’ Level
Five credits. (Not less than 6) including English, Mathematics and Science at GCE ‘O’ Level and not less than D in three subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level.

Medical Candidates
In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit in English and Mathematics (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE.
Must have any of the following from an accredited institution of higher learning with at least one (1) year working experience in a recognized health facility:
General Nurses
Diploma in Nursing (Registered General Nursing/Registered Mental Nursing/Registered Community Nursing/Emergency Nursing) and must have completed the mandatory rotation. Must have registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
Nurse Assistants
Certificate in Nursing (Community Health/Health Assistant Clinical) and must have completed the mandatory rotation. Must have registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
Midwives
Diploma in Midwifery (Registered Midwifery) and must have completed the mandatory rotation. Must have registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.

Pharmacy Technicians
HND in Dispensing Technology must have completed the mandatory national service. Must be a registered member and be in good standing with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.
Technical Officers (Dental Surgery Assistant)
Diploma in Dental Surgery option and must have completed the mandatory national service.
Technical Officers (Dental Technology)
Diploma in Dental Technology option and must have completed the mandatory national service.
Technical Officers (X’Ray)
Diploma in Radiology Technology and must have completed the mandatory national service. Must be a registered member and in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Biomedical Engineering Technologists
Diploma in Medical Equipment Technology from an accredited institution of higher learning and must have completed the mandatory national service.
Technical Officers (Environmental Health)
Diploma in Public Health (Environmental Health)plus one (1) year mandatory national service. Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Technical Assistant (Environmental Health)
Certificate in Public Health (Environmental Health). Must be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Emergency Medical Technicians
Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) –Basic/Advanced level.
