Jislah Financial Services, a finance house regulated by the Bank of Ghana, is seeking, qualified and result-oriented persons for the following position as Chief Executive Officer

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Chief Executive officer (CEO) reports to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the overall and operational performance of the finance house and the achievement for the company's growth and profitability agenda. The CEO's overall responsibility extends to the effective management of the company in fulfilment of the declared objectives and within the framework of the policies laid down by the Board of Directors.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Provision of strategic leadership as approved by the Board of Directors of the Company.
  • Overall financial management of the company.
  • Audit, risk management and compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic planning, leadership and direction of the company.

  • Creation and execution of strategies to ensure achievement of company's
  • Corporate and Social Responsibility agenda of the company.

Job Description

Alongside other functions that may be assigned by the Board of Directors from time to time, the Chief Executive officer will be required to perform the following functions:

  • Grow the company's customer portfolio and increase profits through effective placement mobilisation.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure that performance targets are
  • Develop and implement training and succession plan programmes for staff to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to good governance, investment regulations and industry
  • Ensure that credit activities are carried out in a safe and secure atmosphere
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to the Board of Directors and attend Board meetings
  • Represent the company's interest in accordance with policy guidelines in its dealings with stakeholders.
  • Keep the financial position of the company under critical scrutiny by ensuring strong internal control measures.
  • Provide effective communication link between management and the Board of Directors

Key Competencies

  • Possession of good understanding and working knowledge of international financial reporting standards on the operations of a finance house.
  • A good knowledge of the Banks and Specialised Deposit Institutions Act.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Should meet the Bank of Ghana proper and fit persons test.

Academic Qualification Required:

A post-graduate qualification in Finance/Banking/Accounting from a recognised institution.

Experience:

  • Not less than 10 years of practical experience in the financial services space, five years of which should have been in top management position with strong demonstrable achievements.
  • Strong financial management experience.
  • Strong credit risk management and corporate financing background.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
