You’ll be working closely with the Portfolio team, Capital Interface team and Operations Team in Cape Town, as well as local Ghana and Cape Town leadership teams.

As Operations Manager (Capital) // Ghana, you will be accountable for the successful on-boarding and operational management of our Capital Partners in Ghana. You will be based in Accra and will report to the General Manager // Ghana.

If you join us, you’ll be

  • The Project lead for capital supply on-boarding and operational work streams in Ghana g. bank integrations, wholesale funding etc..
  • The Relationship lead and main point of contact for JUMOs capital partners in Ghana.
  • Providing local context and fulfilling execution role on regulatory, compliance and legal/commercial workstreams.
  • Managing capital and capital partner risk in Ghana.
  • Representing the needs of our capital partners internally in JUMO, including workstream prioritisation, product development, performance related issues and operational and reporting framework development.

Currently we work on a centralised model with respect to functional resources and the platform, so this role would work closely with the rest of JUMO Africa & Group to deploy the JUMO business model(s). Therefore working with the;

  • Portfolio and Data teams to ensure capital partners maintain deep levels of understanding of the product and portfolio performance.
  • MNO and Implementation teams to ensure any work-streams involving Capital partners at Opco level are managed effectively through the onboarding and product and partnerships lifecycle using the appropriate tools.
  • Capital Interface, Treasury and Portfolio teams to ensure alignment on capital partner relationships, strategy alignment and funding requirements in Ghana
  • BI team to ensure our capital partners are receiving appropriate information and reporting.
  • Stakeholder management team to ensure planning and capture of strategic engagements with Capital Partners in Ghana.

What you’ll need

  • 8+ years Tier 1 banking experience in Ghana, in credit, commercial or operational areas.
  • Must be very strong with people and a great communicator.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to make the right calls and escalate only when necessary.
  • Project management experience would be beneficial.
  • International education or work experience would be beneficial.

  • Ability to coordinate and manage complex projects and operations with banking and other capital partners and JUMO resources in other offices.
  • Deep understanding of credit/loan dynamics, with the ability to communicate complex information in simple terms.
  • Deep knowledge and experience of how a bank operates, with the ability to identify and mitigate project or operational risks before they arise.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport across all layers of our banking partners, from project teams to business leaders and executives
  • Take full ownership and have a ‘buck stops with me’ attitude – an ability to work independently and to make it happen.
  • Ability to break down complex challenges into measurable work streams and to lead the delivery.
