purpose
To ensure all tasks relating to Corporate Actions are performed, timely and accurately, in accordance with the service level agreements, regulations as well as market directives. Corporate Actions includes events associated withall instrument types.
responsibilities
- Process event announcements on the GSE and Daily Newspapers, into our Custody system to enable the distribution ofcorporate event notifications to clients
- Monitor the Corporate Actions eventsdaily, to identify events requiring processing for the day
- Check and review entitlementcalculations and reconcile to issuer and transfer secretary records
- Resolve unreconciled positions priorto payment date.
- Track funds payable by Issuer toprocess payments to clients
- Process client election instructionsin line with market and internal deadlines
- End to end processing of allpublished Corporate Actions events in the market
- Manage proxy events and process allvoting instructions in accordance with the market deadlines

- Prepare MIS information anddistribute to GPO and in-country management
- Reconcile and fund the Dividendsuspense account daily
- Submit claims to third parties,where required by clients
- Ensure that all fax, email and Swiftelection instructions are loaded on the Custody system
- Print and recapture rejectedmessages into the Custody system
- Ensure that the Swift repair queueis cleared daily
- Verification of all cashinstructions to ensure that funds have been received from the Central Bank ofGhana or registrar as applicable before executing payments
- Identifying all unmatched electioninstructions and resolve all discrepancies prior to market and internaldeadlines
- Reconciliation of all events onrecord date
- Adherence to all Corporate Actionscut-off times and processes
- Support the operations manager toaccomplish the roll out of the agreed strategy
- End-to-end understanding of relevantinternal and external stakeholder requirements
- Ability to express ideas by means ofclear and effective writing, to support professional communication internallywithin the Bank and externally.
- Actively seek to makerecommendations to improve system, processes and procedures to meet clientneeds and to be first to market in terms of launching new products and services
- Establish and maintain CorporateActions processes and underlying operational controls
- Ability to effectively communicatewith all stakeholders
- Ability to resolve client queriesaccurately and timeously.
- Remain cost focused and makesuggestions for improvement to aid in reducing existing operational costs
- Establish and maintain excellentworking relationships within Custody and the greater FNB team.
- Work with the GPO in SA to align theprocessing and controls with those in the RMBSA Custody business, wherepossible
experience and qualifications
- Grade12
- Diploma
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in abanking environment
- 2 to 5 years’ experience inCorporate Actions or similar environment
- Technical Pre-requisite
- Custody, Corporate Actions knowledge,Trade Settlement (advantageous)
- Relevant custody systems knowledge
- Knowledge of the full MS Officesuite
