The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) as part of its mandate per Act 887 (2015) to develop, coordinate, supervise and facilitate employment opportunities to empower the youth, is inviting interested youth to register for one of its key initiatives, the Artisan Directory.
The YEA Artisan Directory is an initiative intended to achieve the following:
- Assist youth artisans to register and take the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) examinations.
- Assist youth artisans with entrepreneurial training and support to start a business
- Create an online platform to link consumers to artisans as well as serve as a database of artisans in the country.

CATEGORIES FOR REGISTRATION AND REQUIREMENT
NEWLY TRAINED ARTISANS
The Agency will provide support for newly trained artisans who have acquired a skill in any of the under listed trades or vocations, successfully graduated and need assistance to write the NVTI examinations:
- Carpentry
- Masonry and Concrete Technology
- Tiling
- Plumbing
- Aluminum Fabrication and Glass Work
- General Electricals
- Pottery and Ceramics
- Hairdressing / Barbering
- Cosmetology
- Dress Making
QUALIFICATION
- Should be fully trained in a vocation or skill.
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
TRAINING IN COSMETOLOGY
The Agency will select and train a number of youth in the Greater Accra Region in Cosmetology.
QUALIFICATION
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
- Must live in the Greater Accra Region
