Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements


Sandvik is seeking to recruit a Senior Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Officer. Sandvik is committed to representativeness in the composition of its employees and the creation of job opportunities across all sectors of the population

Purpose of Job

The Senior SHEQ Officer will work with the SHEQ Team to ensure compliance with National/Global and Sandvik SHEQ requirements in line with ISO Management systems

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops and implements the organisation's SHEQ programs, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with SHEQ best practice
  • Promotes safety-conscious work performance and training programs
  • Ensures the identification, assessment and control of all potential workplace risks and environmental impact
  • Coordinates with relevant legal or compliance authorities and complies with relevant legal and other requirements
  • Works with sectional Heads to achieve SHEQ objectives
  • Conducts SHEQ audits and follows up on audit action plans
  • Maintains an inspection register of all sites in area of responsibility including PTOs, SWPs and mandatory SHEQ Appointments
  • Takes part in all SHEQ-related meetings and help address concerns raised
  • Records and reports all incidents and coordinate incident investigations when necessary
  • Ensures active and practical emergency procedures are available and communicated to all relevant stakeholders

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Degree / Diploma in relevant field
  • Proven competence in ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 standards
  • In-depth knowledge of SHEQ legislation's
  • Possession a MINCOM certificate of competency in Health & Safety and Environment would be an added advantage
  • Certificate of competence in advanced first aid
  • Proven computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Not less than 3 years hands-on working experience in relevant field
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership, problem-solving skills and strong safety focus
  • Valid Driver's License (Minimum B) required

Location: Pakyi No.1 (Near Kumasi)
