Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ghanaians for the undermentioned positions in a reputable state institution as INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN
PURPOSE:
To ensure efficient maintenance of the computer network system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs and supports new and existing PC/LAN equipment for the Institute and its sub-stations
- Installs upgrades and fixes memory, hard disk, floppy and CD drives on existing workstations.
- Fixes new Network cards. SCSI cards, modems and various workstation cards for the existing Data Network.
- Maintains physical lines and DP connections, including expansion on the Voice network System.
- Repairs of cards, fuses, phone receivers and other hardware related problems using laid down procedures
- Inspects and ensures the proper functioning of all block Data Network Hubs for efficient transmission of
- Assists in disaster recovery and contingency planning of PABX equipment.
SKILLS
- Strong analysis and logical reasoning skills
- Foster relationships and teamwork skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Must have knowledge of the installation of new hardware
QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Computer Studies from a lecognized computer Training Institutions
- Must have passed Five (5) subjects, including Core English and Mathematics at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)/West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) '0" Level
