Job Description
- Organization: Bryan Acheampong Foundation (BAF)
- Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
- Contract Type: Fixed Term (Renewable)
- Job Location: Kwahu – Eastern Region
Job Summary
We are looking for a competent Volunteer Coordinator to manager volunteers through to their arrival, placements, monitoring of on-going projects and their departure. Candidate will be responsible for allocating responsibilities for volunteers.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate Airport-pick up with other team members
- Oversee and implement orientation plan for new volunteers by introducing them to the local area and Foundation team members in various program units.
- Organize bed allocations for new arrivals and introduce new volunteers to their project sites
- Organize orientation for volunteers at placement sites and help with settling volunteers into the program

- Prepare monthly volunteer budgets
- Arrange logistics & transport for volunteers to and from placement site
- Visit volunteer’s residence daily to ensure volunteers set off to work and check on their welfare
- Organize weekly meetings with volunteers.
- Visit all placement sites weekly and assist with any problem that may arise.
- Coach volunteers on local customs and programs with the organization
- Prepare monthly detailed report of all volunteer activities
- Coordinate additional volunteer activities around their fundraised money.
- Create additional detailed workplan or program activity list for each volunteer
- Engage with local authorities to keep all volunteer projects in line with local directives
- Coordinate transport for airport drop off at the of placement
- Complete full debrief with volunteers upon completion of project
- Keep details records of volunteers’ information and assignments
- Keep social media up to date with current projects and placements
Required Skills or Experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse cultural background
- Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
- A pleasant, outgoing personality
- Experience in managing volunteers
- Working knowledge of databases and MS office(especially excel)
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work, Business Administration, Human Resources or any relevant field.
- Must have 1-2 years progressive experience in social work or volunteer management
- Must have experience working with local communities
- Prior experience in local or international NGO environment will be an asset
