A reputable insurance company in Ghana controlling a significant share of the life insurance market is seeking to recruit desirable professionals with a high pedigree to assume the under-listed position as Transport Officer
TRANSPORT OFFICER
Reporting to the Head, Human Resource/Administration, the Transport Officer will be responsible for planning, managing and coordinating all transport matters to facilitate the Company's operations.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensure the implementation of the Transport Policy of the Company periodically determine policy guidelines.
- Adopt sound operational practices in the management of Company vehicles and motorbikes to ensure optimum utilisation.
- Determine vehicle requirements by judiciously assessing business needs
- Advise Management on replacement and disposal of Company vehicle in line with Company policy
- Maintain a database of all vehicle life cycle related documents; i.e purchase and vehicle transfer documents, maintenance related cost, insurance. road worthiness, vehicle assignment documents and disposal related documents.
- Monitor and manage the fuelling of Company vehicles and motors using fuel cards to ensure efficiency
- Prepare annual budget Against budget.
- Ensure drivers have regular refreshes training to improve their skills

Educational Qualification and Experience
- Higher (H N D) in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum Of five (S) years work experience Transport Management of which three (3) should be in a supervisory role.
- A professional certification in Transport Management or Certificate in Auto Mechanics will be an advantage
- A member of a relevant professional body.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge Of transport management systems, practices and principles.
- Knowledgeable in road traffic rules and regulations and DVLA procedures.
- Knowledge vehicle tracking Systems.
- Ability to manage vendor and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability keep effective and documentation process and systems.
- Ability to implement a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Good interpersonal skills coupled with team building skills.
- Good coordinating and organising skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
