A reputable insurance company in Ghana controlling a significant share of the life insurance market is seeking to recruit desirable professionals with a high pedigree to assume the under-listed position as Assistant Secretary
ASSISTANT COMPANY SECRETARY
The role holder will be responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the Company. particularly, board procedures and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and will assist the Company Secretary to ensure the integrity Of the governance framework Of the Company.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Organise and prepare the agendas and papers for Board, Board Committees and Annual General (AGMs) meetings.
- Communicate decisions made by the Board to the Managing Director.
- Deal with correspondence. collation Of information and writing

- Assist the Managing Director to disseminate Board decisions to relevant Managers.
- Follow up on Board action items. collating and updating the Managing Director on Status of Board action items.
- Maintain statutory books.
- Prepare statutory filings for presentation to National Insurance Commission and Registrar of Companies.
- Provide advice to the Board on good practice in corporate governance
Qualification
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or law (LLB) from a recognised institution will be an advantage
- A full or partial qualification (level 6) from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK (ICSA. U K).
- A minimum of three (3) years work experience in company secretaryship
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Good communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.
- Detail-oriented, integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to prioritise work and to work well under pressure.
- Diplomatic approach and the confidence to provide support to a high-profile company staff and board members.
- Organisational and planning skills.
- Sound knowledge of corporate governance issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
