The British Council SSA has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager for West Africa Cluster countries. The role is based in Accra, Ghana.
The Role: Human Resources Manager West Africa Cluster
Location: Accra, Ghana
The Role Purpose:
To manage HR operations, overall objectives and business priorities in support of all British Council teams based in Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Cameroon. The HR Manager will work to ensure the overall objectives and business priorities, in line with regional and corporate policies are managed.
The HR Manager West Africa Cluster will also manage the delivery of a range of agreed HR services to internal customers, lead on and contribute to the agreed HR projects in the cluster and the region.
Additionally, the purpose of the HR Manager is to provide British Council staff based in West Africa Cluster with advice and services on a range of HR issues, provide accurate and accessible information and support the achievement of operational goals.

Role Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent in Business Administration/Human Resource Management from a recognised institution
- Recognised Human Resources qualification advantageous
- Proficiency in English – B2 level
- French desirable
- Five (5) years’ progressive experience and track record in HR management
- Experience and understanding of best practice in HR processes and systems
- Understanding of relevant areas of HR (Reward, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Performance management, Employee Relations, Labour Law, 'Equality, Diversity and Inclusion' and Business Partnering)
- Budget management experience desirable
