Total Multinational Petroleum Company is seeking to recruit qualified Staff Nurse and Occupational Health staff. This role Works with the medical personnel and human resources to assist in health policy development, Organize first aider training and maintain a master list of company's trained first aiders, Provide first aid treatment to workforce when necessary and report the incident to HSE Department, ensures implementation of the occupational health and hygiene programs, facilitates safety and security programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The occupational health nurse (OHN)/Staff Nurse practices within the workplace and contributes to the health and wellbeing of employees, provide specialized technical expertise in radioactive waste, biological and chemical safety, occupational safety and hygiene, environmental programs and ergonomics. Responsibilities :
- Work within a multidisciplinary team, assist in health policy development, assist in contributing to accident follow up and provide advice on disability issues at the workplace.
- Conduct assessment at the work environment for the potential health and safety problems.
- Design, develop and deliver new health promotion initiatives; and conduct health risk assessments.
- Deliver health and safety related training programmes.
- Monitor employee exposure to hazardous chemicals and undertaking statutory and non-statutory health surveillance.
- Develop return to work strategies following serious injury or a period of prolonged ill-health.
- Provide advice to employers on how they can achieve compliance with health and safety and employment legislation.
- Keep an up to date with legal and professional changes associated with public health and occupational health and safety.
- Organize first aider training and maintain a master list of company's trained first aiders.
- Lead the management of the first aid box by ensuring periodic replenishment of the first aid box.
- Provide first aid treatment to workforce when necessary and report the incident to HSE Department.
- Assist and offer advice on health within a multidisciplinary team.
- Identify potential health and safety problems.
- Assist in the introduction and maintenance of policy development.
- Design, develop and deliver new health promotion initiatives.
- Identify a range of risk and health assessments that can occur to help with improving the health and wellbeing of staff.
- Deliver a range of health and safety related training programmes.
- Evaluate employee exposure to hazardous chemicals and undertaking statutory and non-statutory health surveillance.
- Offer advice on return to work strategies following serious injury or a period of prolonged ill-health.
- Advise employers on how they can achieve compliance with health and safety and employment legislation.
- Keep up to date with legal and professional changes with public health and occupational health and safety.
Candidate Profile :
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, at a minimum a diploma in Nursing.
- Related Diploma, B.Sc. or Graduate qualification in Occupational Health & safety, Sciences, Industrial Hygiene or Engineering.
- Applicants with over 5+ years equivalent professional work experience is considered.
- Relevant professional certification(s) highly desirable.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or willingness to pursue certification required.
- At least two years' post-registration nursing practices in hospitals.
- Extensive OSHA regulatory knowledge.
- Must meet related requirements and be licensed in good standing to practice medical and Health profession.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to Construct and interpret medical history.
- Able to dispense medication from on-site dispensary (if applicable).
- Able to work independently.
- Experienced in professional clinical experience.
• Experience in Urgent Care or Occupational Medicine a plus
