Job Title: Head of Communication, Gender and Services

Project: GIZ Country Office Ghana

Report To: Head of Finance and Administration

Assignment period: Two years contract with a possibility of an extension

Location: Accra

Job Description

Strategic and cørative lead of the unit *Communication. Gender and Services*. Managing and coaching the unit's members. Making Communications and Gender become high-esteemed, influential and reliable units within GIZ Ghana.

Tasks

Communication

  • Develop the concept for communicating country-related information both within and outside of GIZ. systematic planning and management of communication activities
  • Drive GIZ's visibility in supporting the overall GIZ Ghana brand
  • Develop PR plans including press positioning, messaging, creative collaboration strategies and ideas for high-impact events
  • Place quality, message-rich stories that develop our brand position
  • Define and build the internal communications function at GIZ Ghana. hdpin9 to effectively communicate and reinforce cultural values, and through the organisation ,

Gender

  • Lead on implementation of GIZ's Gender Strategy
  • Facilitate the institutionalisation of gender equality across GIZ Ghana
  • Provide advice. direction and support to all Program Coordinators including support in directing strategies to achieve significant impact On gender and women' rights
  • Build the capacity Of all GIZ Ghana Staff on how to integrate gender from a programmatic perspective through training,
  • Ensure that GIZ Ghana Country Office's work treats gender as a cross-cutting Issue in all its response activities leadership implementation or the gender thematic strategies through the gender focal po.nt working group

Services

  • Ensure the smooth running of all service activities the country
  • Efficient and reliable fleet management 
  • Implementation and assurance adherence to hygiene

Other tasks

  • Participate in internal and external everts and fulfil representative
  • Close exchange coordination with managers
  • Takeover other Office activities and tasks as assigned by the and/or the responsible Staff

 

Your Profile

  • Master's degree in Business, Management, Communications, Gender Studies or related field
  • At least S years' professional experience in a comparable position with management experience
  • Ability to analyse processes and information, identify prouems and trends, and develop eff«tive Solutions and to exceßio•nal and to staff
  • High level of conceptual, strategic thinking
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Solution-driven mind set
  • Able to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent Communication (written and oral) and Public Relations Officer
  • Very good knowledge of English Language
