Job Description
- Department: Operations

- Immediate Supervisor: Operations Director
- Direct Report: Finance Manager,Finance Officer
JOB PURPOSE
- Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and for the Organisation.
- Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports and make relevant recommendations on budget expenditures
- Oversee the Finance Unit to provide an effective accounting system to deal with the nuances of non-profit accounting and reporting.
- Responsible for designated donor project budgeting, reporting and to ensure compliance with donor’s requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of the financial record keeping, controls and reconcile the documentation, uploads the financial information in Clearbooks
- Efficient administration of account payable, account receivable, cash management, general ledger and payroll
- Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports such as financial statements, project finance reports, bank reconciliations.
- Analyze and evaluate information from the financial reports and provide management with proposals on best practice in financial operations.
- Engage with cash forecasting, budgeting, budget monitoring and variance explanation reports

- Ensure all financial and statutory regulations are adhered to
- Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization in the UK and Ghana.
- Coaching and developing the capacity of staff
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Submission of timely error free reports
- Compliance with regulations
- Provision of analysis and professional financial advice for accurate decision-making
Required Skills or Experience
- Minimum of a first degree in Accounting from a recognized tertiary institution with at least 5 years post qualification relevant work experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ prior managerial experience in an NGO setting and reporting to institutional donors will be of added advantage.
- Fully-Qualified Accountant (ICA, CIMA, ACCA)

- Efficient & Reliable
- Good sense of judgment
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Ability to prepare, interpret and analyze financial statements and reports
- Good working knowledge of taxation, pensions, procurement and internal control measures
- Adept at Microsoft Office suite, at least one accounting software and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools. Knowledge of Clearbooks is an advantage.
- Ability to handle month end close processes, overhead allocations and account reconciliations
