Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
IDS International is seeking a PSO SME - Engineering to support the African Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (ACOTA) contract in Ghana. T The PSO Senior Subject Matter Expert – Engineering will be the Team Lead’s principal mentor for GAF-led Engineering training as well as the Team Lead’s Lead Trainer for Advanced Engineering training as part of Task H. The PSO Senior Subject Matter Expert – Engineering will mentor, advise and assist GAF trainers conducting engineering training to the battalion deploying to UNMISS, the company deploying to MINUSMA, and will train GAF engineering cadre IAW with learning objectives and outcomes. This position is located in Ghana and is contingent upon award.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or foreign military construction engineering occupational specialty experience.
- Experience as a senior trainer to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing military construction engineering projects (i.e., force protection, base camp design, water, and road improvement missions) in austere environments.
- UN peacekeeping operations experience.
- Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa.
Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
