IDS International is seeking an Advanced Training Management Trainer to support the African Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (ACOTA) contract. The Advanced Training Management Trainer will be Team Lead’s principal instructor for Advanced Instructor Development Train-the-Trainer and Advanced Training Management objectives. The Trainer will serve as senior instructor on team to train the GAF PMTC staff to enhance their training management, training resource management and instructional skills IAW learning objectives and outcomes. This position is located in Ghana and is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and conduct 20 training days for the Advanced Instructor Development for up to 50 GAF trainers assigned to the DAPKOP or the GAF PMTC responsible for current and future peacekeeping training.
- Develop modules of instruction to help them develop training management and instructional skills.
- Provide all training materials, including PPT presentations, lesson plans, and other training aids to present training.
- Teach and test through practical exercises (PEs) the techniques and procedures for effective military training management and instructor skills.
- Develop mission essential tasks and supporting Collective, Leader, Staff, and individual tasks at all echelons for all deploying units based on mandated tasks, mission capability requires and UN training guidance.
- Develop Tasks, Conditions and Standards for training based on UN, National or U.S. doctrine as appropriate.
- Develop advanced, holistic, and battle-focused POIs and lesson plans which can be provided to trainers for execution.
- Develop realistic and resource informed training strategies, calendars and schedules based on the organization building blocks of:
- Individual and small-unit skills
- Leader development
- Collective skills
- Staff training

Required Qualifications:
- Completed U.S. or foreign equivalent Military Education Level 4 (Command and General Staff College)
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years military operations and training experience cumulative with directly related experience in overseas program operations.
- Experience as senior trainer to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building and unit-level assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in organizational development, conducting activities intended to drive institutional improvement and self-sufficient organizational change.
- Experience in a U.S. or foreign military training and doctrine development organization, or permanent assignment to a U.S. or foreign military training school or combat training center.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Regional Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
