Job Title: IT Vendor Manager
Job Summary
This position is for an IT Supplier/Vendor Manager who will lead the improvement and implementation of a supplier management process and ensure the process delivers business value. In this position, you should be comfortable with working with all levels of IT leadership in developing a Supplier Management program with emphasis on service quality, cost containment strategies and exceptional customer service.
As a member of the Production Assurance (Service Management) team, you will be responsible for working with IT staff at all levels to ensure vendor strategies are obtained and that vendor goods and services are delivered per the requirements of the contract.
In this capacity, you will identify supplier management initiatives that meet the needs of internal service providers, and work collectively with them to develop and implement strategies that support those needs.
You will lead competitive-bid activities for larger managed services contracts up to and through finalization of the contract by our Procurement Department.
You will lead IT staff in determining the proper mechanism and criteria for ensuring performance and assist in root-cause and corrective action if performance issues arise.
In addition, you will directly oversee the performance of our Managed Service Provider who provides our commodity IT support, including the Service Desk and Field Services operations.
It’s important that you have an understanding and some experience in these operational areas. You will also be responsible for software licensing contracts such as Oracle, Microsoft, Redhat Linux, etc.
