PATH is seeking a Regional Coordinator to provide technical direction and coordination of activities for the Healthy Heart Africa (HHA) project, to be implemented in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. HHA project focuses on detection, management, quality of care and demand for care of hypertension. This two-year project is funded by AstraZeneca and is implemented by PATH in three countries in Africa, namely Kenya, Ethiopia and Senegal. Ghana becomes the fourth country to implement the Healthy Heart Africa project. Key activities in this project include awareness raising, capacity building, data collection and presentation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation of the AstraZeneca (AZ) HHA project in Ashanti Region and Act as PATH focal point person to liaise and coordinate with the local partners for project implementation in this region;
- Lead development of technical guidance to all field activities of the Healthy Heart Africa project in the Ashanti Region, including project design, implementation, social mobilization and communication and project documentation;
- Develop and maintain relationships with health facilities selected for the project and lead activities such as conducting site assessments; activating selected sites; supporting facility performance improvement plans, training providers and community health officers/ volunteers;
- Lead the development of an advocacy and communication plan to gain overall regional buy-in, factoring in the social leaders and influencers;
- Lead the development of Social and behavior Change Communication materials on hypertension for public awareness raising and other advocacy materials such as fact sheets, policy brief and documentation of success stories;
