A Residents' Association of a reputable Residential Estate in Accra is seeking to recruit Estate Manager. Applications are invited from qualified persons to fill the following position in gated residential estate on the Spintex Road in Accra.

Position title: ESTATE MANAGER

Reports to: MCHRA Executives

Position summary:

  • The Estate Manager is responsible for working directly with MCHRA executives to execute the overall plan for management of the Manet Court Estate and other employees.
  • The Estate Manager will be responsible for inspecting other employees’ areas of responsibility to ensure satisfactory completion, as well as for reporting to MCHRA. Additional duties and  responsibilities include the following:


General duties and responsibilities:

  • Should be familiar with all the positions filled at the estate, and be aware of the job specifications of each one.
  • Required, as the Estate Manager, to be on call to handle potential emergencies at Manet Court.
  • Should have an understanding of their employer’s business policies and be able to represent the image they seek to present.
  • Should act as liaison for residents.
  • Should attend meetings when required and work with other teams and vendors.
  • Must collect estate service charges on a monthly basis and handle late payments in a timely manner.
  • Must coordinate maintenance schedules, address residents’ complaints, complete repairs and enforce MCHRA modes of operations.
  • Must manage a cohesive property maintenance team.

Qualification Required & Experience

Skills and knowledge:

  • The Estate Manager must be able to switch focus at a moment’s notice.
  •  They must be comfortable with financing, scheduling and other technical management skills. Above all, they must be dedicated to their job and their employer.

They will also require a series of more specific skills, which include the following:

Management Skills – The key part of the Estate manager’s position is ensuring that all parts of theestate are running smoothly. This will require them to be able to accurately assess both the quality of theestate’s upkeep and high productivity of employees.

Leadership Skills – Interacting with staff, the Estate Manager must be able to motivate them to beproud of their work and give it their all. This requires a positive personality type that encourages a collaborative work environment.

Technical Skills and Research and Knowledge – Avoiding conflicts and keeping the staff running smoothly, the Estate Manager is required to use spreadsheet software and personal skills to keep track of resident details, payments trends and maintenance activities. This includes knowledge of valuable items that will require special care.

Smartphone – Part of the Estate Manager’s job is staying on call in order to field emergencies at any of their employer’s properties. A smartphone with e-mail capability allows them to manage crises
remotely.

  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail
  • Knowledge of economics and accounting
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure
  • The ability to work well with others
