The Role
The Funding and Programme Development Advisor works with the country Leadership team and have responsibility for support to mobilize resources for Oxfam’s programme in Ghana; to develop and maintain good quality and consistent relationships with donors; contract management; effectively support programme teams to develop and plan concept papers/notes and proposals in accordance with country strategy and donor requirements and planning, coordination, securing, management and reporting of restricted income to enable Oxfam in Ghana to deliver on the Oxfam Country Strategy for Ghana.
The purpose of this job is to lead in the pursuit of the above team purpose specifically in the area of resource mobilization strategy implementation and review, programme and bid development, relationship with donors and affiliates and grant management.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a strong leader with a minimum of Seven years’ relevant work experience in development work with at least three of these years’ experience in raising funds, preparing project proposals for international organizations such DFID, EU, OFDA, DANIDA etc., foundations, Private corporate organizations as well as and UN Agencies and other institutional donors which are predominant in. Experience with donors’ rules and regulations and sound skills in capacity building in relation to fundraising or programme development. Ability to work collaboratively and manage relationship with a Programme managers to oversee reporting process and ensure high quality and timely donor deliverable. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, target-driven and an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising opportunities
Experience in project management and monitoring is essential with strong individual planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritise, coordinate, control and forward plan several tasks at the same time, without supervision and within tight timing constraints.
