Clean Team is Ghana’s leading social enterprise for in-home Container Based Sanitation (CBS) solutions. It is run by Ghanaians who provide solutions that help resolve Ghana’s current sanitation crisis. About 60-70% of Ghanaians don’t have access to clean affordable toilet. This has resulted in many residents resorting to open defecation in our communities. Clean Team’s existence is to provide a solution to these problems by presenting an affordable household toilet option for residents in Kumasi. Clean Team Ghana is represented by a team of dedicated men and women who, are committed to improving Ghana’s current sanitation challenge.
Job Description
Reporting To: CEO
The Role:
We are looking to hire a Human Resources Manager who will evolve our Human Resources practices.
- The role will be split between administration and strategy. On the administration side, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with the Labour Act, across the business
- Ensuring policy, processes and procedures are adhered to, including regularly reviewing their suitability
- Ensuring high quality recruitment and onboarding of new staff (approximately 60 new hires expected over the next 3 years)
- On the strategic side, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of world class leadership development training for all levels of management
- Ensuring development opportunities are available for all members of the team. This will include managing the training budget, growing the mentor pool and measuring how well the team is developing skills and behaviours
- Supporting the design and implementation of our new incentive plan, including supporting line managers to track and appraise staff performance
- Culture development – we currently have a family orientated culture that is geared toward improving performance. We are very proud of the culture of our organisation but recognise that it will evolve as we grow rapidly over the coming years and want to ensure that there is a focus on actively developing the culture and CTG is always a challenging, fun, empathetic employer

The successful candidate will report to the CEO and will become the expert point of contact within the organisation. The successful candidate will also partner with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures and programs, to staff.
We are open to a part time role for the right candidate.
Required Skills or Experience
- Knowledge and experience of employment law and compliance; performance management; training and development programme design; culture development and recruitment are essential for this role.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building is critical
- Formal coaching experience is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

- Managing Change: The ability to focus on actively developing, implementing and managing a cultural evolution geared towards improving performance
