Assistant Manager, Commercial
Department: Operations and Marketing
Location: Accra
Reporting to: Head of Operations and Marketing
Salary: Competitive
Potential Start Date: June 2019
Responsible for the marketing. sales and customer account management of commercial/industrial clients as well as developing and executing plans to meet targets in volumes and Manage the commercial und and coach and mentor all direct reports and establish development plans 'for them to exceed expectations
Be commercially aware, monitor market and gather competitive intelligence on now products. competitive strategies. industry tactics, and opportunities business growth
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES (KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS)
SALES
- Identify and bring on board business development opportunities in the assigned market space,
- Contribute to the departmental budgeting process by providing field-based information relating to sales, discounts, expenses and Capital investments required
- Achieve budgeted sales volumes and margins targets within the specified period whiles reporting on weekly sales actwitses grang corrective recommendation as necessary.
- Conduct variance analysis / business reviews per customer, compare to budget and take corrective action where appropriate.
- Ensure all rebates and the HOD approves discounts prior to sales.
Business Development
- Prepare and present proposals in complete and professional manner, according to company standards.
- Prospect, prioritise, execute marketing promotions and close multiple opportunities in parallel, while maintalning ongovng business partner relationships.
- Maintains record and tracking of all proposals in progress and timely follows-up to maximise sales opportunities Aggressavely pursues all proposals in progress.
Customer Service & Relationship.
- Ensure a high standard of service to existing and prospective businesses and in a timely manner.
- Plan and hold penodic meetings with customers/counter-patty staff to discuss their specific business and product requirernents, towards developing a sales plan that enable the commercial business unit meet those needs.
Business Management Performance
- Have good negotiation skills. analytical and able to effectively
- Understanding of NPA pricing structure, trade terms, discounts and the effect of account receivables on cash flow
- Reconcile customer accounts and ensure proper documentation ensure accuracy and completeness of custorner statements and timely dispatch
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Experience: Must have a minimum, of 2 years' experience in similar industry
Knowledge:
- Broad understanding of Commercial Business (example Mining industry)
- Knowledge of contracts and tenders
- Understanding of processes & procedures
Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to work independently or seamlessly with a team
- Work under pressure with dose attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills.
- Customer service oriented
