Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
IBTCI seeks a logistics coordinator for an upcoming risk assessment in Ghana. This assessment is being funded by USAID West Africa’s Peace through Evaluation, Learning and Adapting (PELA) Activity. The purpose of this activity is to support USAID/West Africa to be a more effective, efficient and adaptable operating unit in achieving the development objective of strengthening systems of non-violent conflict management in West Africa. This is a two week consultancy beginning on or about June 1, 2019. This position is open to Ghanaian nationals or residents only.
Responsibilities
Using subject matter skills, perform tasks on specific task orders and/or contracts. Tasks could include, but not be limited to:

- Organizing and scheduling interviews for the assessment, including refreshments when needed
- Organizing and booking accommodations and travel for the assessment team
- Helping the assessment team with translations and transcription support as needed
- Helping the assessment team develop and stick to a workplan
- Serving as the main point of contact for coordinating day-to-day implementation of the assessment activities and ensuring logistical requirements for the assessment team are met
- Coordinating with the PELA office coordinator to ensure compliance with USAID and IBTCI regulations
- Ensuring maintenance of a filing system for all hard and soft copy assessment documents, as directed by the Lead Researcher, the Assessment Coordination Specialist, and the PELA Research Director
- Maintaining supplies and equipment needed for the assessment, ensuring that supplies are available and equipment is in proper working order at all times
- Perform general office clerk duties and errands, such as printing and photocopying, as needed by the assessment team
- Ensuring the assessment team has adequate communications tools, such as SIM cards and internet, in each research site within Ghana
- Other duties as assigned.
- Serve in the above consultant capacity to support the IBTCI technical practices of Crisis, Conflict & Governance, Agriculture & Food Security & Economic, Education & Growth and Global Health and/or Business Development divisions.
- This consultancy does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
- This consultancy does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.
Qualifications
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work well under limited supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, required
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office required
- Demonstrated experience with USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred
- Past experience and demonstrated success in working with a cross-cultural teams of researchers in the field is preferred
- Ability to effectively manage logistics support in an organized and timely manner is required
Minimum Requirements:
- Oral and written fluency in English is required. Additional fluency a major Ghanaian language is preferred
- Ability and willingness to work with a virtual team required
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- 2 to 3 years previous logistics and/or administrative experience required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, logistics, or related field required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: Travel within Ghana will be required.
