Role Summary
The successful applicant will lead, manage and continuously irnprove the effectiveness of the specialist Mine Management Divisions and SupportFunctions, consistent with delivering maximum sustainable value of the awls to the Continental Africa Region yielding cost and productivity base improvements.The role is critical in enabling a culture of employee value and ensuring the resources and technologies are in place to move the company into a world-class facility where critical skills can be retained, and the community sustained around it.
The incumbent will work in an integrated fashion with various specialist vice presidents as colleagues to develop the Transformation and Sustainability Portfolios for the Ghana Country operation

Role Accountabilities
- Seek and pursue opportunities to improve HSE performance,
- Drive collaboration in pursuing HSE goals,
- Identify, understand and address HSE hazards and risks,
- Health, Safety and Environment (HSE):
- Plan and operate for closure, and continuouslyreduce environmental liability
People:
- Live and lead AGA values,
- Develop talent and implement succession planning,
- Maintain an engaged workforce and a healthy Industrial Relations climate,
- Implement effective managerial leadership and achieve desired team outputs and work behaviours
Transformative Business Development:
- Develop Business Plans and LOM Strategic Options for the Business Unit,
- Identify business growth opportunities in pursuit of longer life of mine and free cash flow,
- Develop and implement a project pipeline in line with approved Business Strategic Options,
- Deliver a strong pipeline of conversion of endowment to resources and resources to reserves
Production, Working Capital and Stay in Business Capital:
- Set up the business to consistently achieve quarterly budgets on production, cost and free cash flow,
- Continuously improve the business systems, processes and procedures,
- Timely submissions of operational plans, forecasts and reports,
- Optimise working capital, eliminate lock ups and write offs,
- Establish a disciplined Stay in Business capital allocation and management process
Operational Excellence:
- Continuous improvement of the business the Operational Excellence Platform
- Sustain of people participation and rituals (Wiring), Pipeline of Ideas and Coaching of relevant personnel
Social Licence to Operate:
- Create and maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with host communities,
- Engage with relevant regulatory authorities and go beyond mere compliance,
- Participate in [he regional and local government programmes that align to AGA values and goals,
- Partake proactively in the value creating activities of the industry bodies such as the Ghana Chamber of Mines,
- Deliberately promote the fair participation of local people in employment, and in supply and contracts
Legal, Ethics and Compliance:
- Make decisions that reduce and eliminate legal, ethical and comp'iance risks,
- Perform necessary due diligence on third parties,
- Train and model ethical leadership,
- Identify and report compliance violations
- Keep abreast of and compliance changing AGA policy and national legislation
Specifications
- Minimum qualification of Post-Graduate Degree in Metallurgy, Engineering, Mining and/or Business Management
- 10 — 15 years of experience in business management with at least five years in an Executive Management capacity.
- Provide technical expertise required which includes an understanding of Mining Engineering Capital Projects and Production turn-around Programs to achieve big scale change through systematic implementation of improved management programmes in both a production unit and the community it operates in.
- Certified by Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission of Ghana as required by the position
- Demonstrable record of developing and sustaining a customer focused culture, and leading, motivating and managing multi- disciplinary teams to achieve significant improvement and outstanding results
- Demonstrate the culture of diversity and inclusion to balance the operational workforce
- Effective communication and excellent leadership skills and ability interact with senior management
- Result oriented person and creative, in addition to having strong business development skills
