Strengthening Targeted Instruction for Implementation at Scale (STARS) Project

The Strengthening Targeted Instruction for Implementation at Scale (STARS) Project is an educational project to be carried out in 20 districts in 7 regions; Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Volta, Eastern, Greater Accra and Central regions. STARS is looking to recruit field staff (enumerators or surveyors, auditors, team leaders, and field supervisors) on a short-term contract of 4 – 5 weeks to carry out Follow UP survey in its schools/communities.
Job description:
Team Leaders (TLs) will oversee survey fieldwork. This will involve managing a team of Surveyors, overseeing field finances, supervising daily survey activities, survey monitoring and writing daily field reports to field supervisor. Team Leaders will also maintain records; including survey tracking, surveyor attendance and project expenses. Team Leaders are responsible for maintaining high quality data collection and will report to field supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all the Surveyors at a field station, manage their work, and ensure that they are all following IPA survey protocols;
- The Team Leader shall ensure that the data collected are of high quality
- The Team Leader shall have the responsibility of evaluating the performance of all field staff under him/her supervision
- The Team Leader shall be responsible in managing finances and logistics; this includes reconciliation and distribution of respondent gifts each morning.
- Verify that Surveyors have interviewed the right respondents;
- Do frequent and random spot checks in the field to monitor surveyors;
- Report all problems immediately to the Field Supervisor and Field Managers.
- Receive timely instructions from IPA Field Supervisor, Field Manager and other IPA staff.
- Submit timely feedback to the Field Supervisor
- Be responsible for maintaining good relations with IPA, its employees, partner organizations and project participants.
Required Skills or Experience
- Must have Higher National Diploma (HND), first degree or its equivalent from a reputable institution with at least one-year field/data collection experience
- Should be familiar with Computer Assisted Interview (CAI) or keen to learn
- Familiarity with administering interviews using SurveyCTO is an added advantage.
- Should be fluent in English
- Should be fluent and able to translate questionnaire in any of the language requirement of the chosen district.
- Experience in similar roles with IPA or similar non-IPA project is an added advantag
