Project Summary:
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a United States-based non-profit organization dedicated to discovering, and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems. IPA designs, rigorously evaluates, and refines these solutions and their applications together with decision-makers to ensure that the evidence created is used to improve opportunities for the world’s poor.
The Strengthening Targeted Instruction for Implementation at Scale (STARS) Project is an educational project to carried out in 21 districts in 7 regions; Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Volta, Eastern, Greater Accra and Central regions. STARS is looking to recruit field staff (enumerators or surveyors, auditors, team leaders, and field supervisors) on a short-term contract of 4 – 5 weeks to carry out Follow Up survey in its schools/communities.
Job description:
The Field Supervisor (FS) shall manage multiple teams of surveyors. Basically, the Field Supervisor shall;
Responsibilities:
Report directly to the Field Manager;
- Adhere to all IPA survey protocols;
- Supervise multiple field teams and Team Leaders;
- Organize overall field logistics;
- Contact the IPA Field Manager at any time with questions or concerns;
- Coordinate field work, manage field team expenses, and communicate with the project management team;
- Ensure that field teams adhere to IPA protocols and meet their contractual obligations
- Accompany surveyors; conduct random, spot checks and run HFC.
- Ensure survey equipment is managed appropriately by field teams and assist with the preparation of daily work plans
- Be responsible for maintaining good relations with IPA, its employees, partner organizations and project participants;
- Perform other duties related to the project that may be assigned to him/her.
Required Skills or Experience
- Must have Higher National Diploma (HND), first degree or its equivalent from a reputable institution with at least one-year field/data collection experience
- Should be familiar with Computer Assisted Interview (CAI) or keen to learn
- Familiarity with administering interviews using SurveyCTO is an added advantage.
- Should be fluent in English
- Should be fluent and able to translate questionnaire in any of the language requirement of the chosen district.
