The Role
In collaboration with relevant partners (Ghana Education Service, District Assemblies and Civil society organization partner, Library without Borders) and under the supervision of the Education Programme and Policy Coordinator ensure the effective planning and effective implementation of the Innovation for Transformative Education (ITE) project in the Sawla and Kpandai Districts to achieve the objectives and key performance indicators for the Project as well as contribute to the overall objectives of Oxfam’s Inequality Programme in Ghana. Lead in the modelling, learning and documentation of the application of innovation (i.e. the use of Ideasbox and KoomBooks) to promote transformative education for active citizenship and promote equality in education.

What we are looking for
We are looking for a strong team player who is able to engage with team members; contribute to initiatives that would support the Education pillar in Oxfam in Ghana and who has special expertise in the application of ICT innovation and/or learner-centred pedagogy.The ideal candidate should have highly developed planning skills with ability to prioritise, coordinate, control and forward plan several tasks at the same time, without supervision and within tight timing constraints. Should have In-depth knowledge and experience in social development programme with good knowledge of the educational and cultural contexts of project districts/area in the Northern Region. Demonstrable numerical skills and confident with budgets and spreadsheets Strong sense of integrity and personal commitment to the goals of Oxfam, especially related to gender justice, diversity and human rightsExcellent communicator, able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Computer literate (Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint). The ability to learn new applications. Demonstrable commitment and sensitivity to Oxfam’s values and understanding of gender and diversity issues.Supporting all the above competencies, will require at least university degree in development studies or the social sciences and not less than three years’ experience doing development work.
