Job Summary
The position holder is the overall admin manager of the PMD in Ghana. While being responsible for all admin issues at PMD Ghana, the focus of the position lies on the management of finances and contracts of PMD in Ghana She/he is prominently responsible for the budget planning, forecasting, financial monitoring and monitoring of contracts of PMD Further She/he ensures the quality of admin processes within PMD Ghana and ensures a smooth liaising with GIZ/PMD HQ in Eschborn (Germany) as well as with the administrative units of GIZ Ghana She/he works in a team with a junior admin manager on project level and liaises closely with him
- Minimum Qualification: MBA / MSc
- Experience Level: Mid level

The global project “Programme Migration for Development” (PMD) is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) The overarching objective of PMD is to leverage the development potential of migration through support of individuals, collaboration with organizations and advice to governments and responsible agencies on the matter The Programme is active in 24 partner countries of German development cooperation
We are looking for a Finance and Admin Officer to join our team
Job Title: Finance and Admin Officer
Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra
Job Description
- Preparing annual and monthly budgets
- Monthly financial monitoring and reporting to the team
- Setting up and operating a monitoring and reporting tool on administrational handling of financing agreements through CSO
- Managing financial agreements with CSO, especially local subsidies
- Is responsible for bank and cash account of the programme
- Compiling and keeping updated a contract list of PMD Ghana
- Is responsible for high quality of admin, financing, procurement, event management and office management processes
- Updating the team through briefings and inputs and updating of a project handbook on admin processes
- Ensuring smooth and correct administrational handling, spending of finances and financial reporting of contractors/grant receivers
- Monitoring of and reporting on administrational handling of financing agreements to procurement team at GIZ office and PMD HQ
- Ensuring smooth collaboration between PMD project team and procurement team at GIZ country office
- Doing commercial suitability checks of potential contractors/grant receivers
- Taking on related administrational tasks upon request from team management
- Closely collaborating with the junior admin manager at project level

Qualification and Requirements
- Minimum of an MBA
- At least 3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
- Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
- Ideally experience in administrational handling of financing agreements and/or administrational work in a CSO
- Very good knowledge of English, ideally a knowledge of German
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
NB: The assignment is for one year with a possibility of an extension
OUR OFFER: Level 4A of GIZ salary grid (Ghana), SSNIT, Health Insurance, as well as 13th Month Salary and Annual Bonus
