The Institute Of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) is the professional accountancy body established by an Act of Parliament to regulate accountancy practise in Ghana. The Institute established a Quality Assurance Monitoring/Review System which scope includes monitoring the quality of all statutory audits and other professional services delivered by its members in practice.
The Institute has two (2) vacancies for the position of Assistant Quality Assurance Manager in the Quality Assurance Monitoring Department and invites applications from qualified candidates.
Qualification:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
- A Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana);
- A qualified accountant who has worked in a practising firm with not less than four (4) years of post qualification experience in statutory audits, or, a qualified accountant who has worked in a practising firm for more than six (6) years, two years of which should be post qualification experience in
statutory audits;
- Experience in leading an Audit Team;
- Excellent reporting writing skills;
- Excellent Computer Skills (especially Microsoft Office Suite);
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and/or the Consultant Head Reviewer of the Quality Assurance Monitoring (QAM) Unit and shall perform all relevant functions as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager and the Consultant Head Reviewer including the following:
- Organising sensitisation and orientation programmes to educate practitioners on the review process;
- Conducting quality assurance reviews;
- Communicating quality assurance reviews teams' findings to auditees. after review by the Quality Assurance Manager and/or the Consultant Head Reviewer;
- Preparing quality assurance monitoring reports;
- Recommending remedial actions/or sanctions as appropriate; and
- Conducting follow-up to ensure recommendations have been propedy implemented.
