The USAID Peace Through Evaluation, Learning, and Adaptation (PELA) Task Order (TO), contracted to IBTCI under the PPL Monitoring and Evaluation Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (EVAL-ME IDIQ) Contract, supports the USAID Mission in West Africa (WA) to be a more effective, efficient and adaptable operating unit in achieving the development objectives of strengthening systems of non-violent conflict management in the region.
**Please note: Only Ghanaian citizens are eligible for this position**
Position Summary:
MSI is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator for its USAID West Africa Peace through Evaluation, Learning, and Adapting (PELA) Activity. The project will strengthen USAID/West Africa’s effectiveness implementing its projects; coordinating its activities; learning from its experiences; and serving as an information, communication, and thought-leader regarding peace promotion and countering violent extremism (CVE) in the West Africa region.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the PELA Research Director in specific research and program tasks, such as collecting and summarizing relevant CVE literature, organizing and scheduling interviews, providing transcription support, and supporting the development of research presentation or workshop materials.
- Serving as the main point of contact for coordinating day-to-day implementation of programmatic and research activities.Includes liaising with the Finance & Administration Director to ensure logistical requirements for research and events are met.
- Ensuring conferences and workshops in the West African region are well organized, planned and executed.
- Assisting the PELA Research Director to collect and report data for the PELA Monitoring and Evaluation plan.
- Establishing and ensuring maintenance of a filing system for all hard and soft copy program documents required for internal M&E purposes.
- Maintaining all PELA performance monitoring data.
- Support the PELA Communications Advisor in developing communications content and drafting reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in international relations, politics and governance, peacebuilding, security studies, international development, or related field required. Master’s degree in one of the above fields is preferred.
- Oral and written fluency in French and English required.
- At least one (1) year assisting with organizing conferences, events, training workshops, and procurement of goods and services for a US government agency or an international donor organization highly desirable.
- Basic research skills, such as the ability to conduct Internet searches, use bibliographic software such as Zotero, and attention to detail are required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with key stakeholders, including donors, beneficiaries, and local officials to ensure the implementation of project activities and data collection.
- Excellent organizational, planning and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
