Job Description
The Manager for the Mortgage product has the following key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design. packaging and implementation Of the Mortgage product
- Responsible for conducting market research. analysing competitors' products, features, pricing and other information, for presentation to the Head of New business:
- Responsible for the development of Product Specifications, Policies, Procedures and Contracts for the Mortgage product;
- Responsible for the registration and discharge of mortgages, to reflect the interest and rights of the business in collateral properties provided my clients;
- Responsible for ensuring a collection rate of 95% for the mortgage product;
- Responsible for assisting the Head of New Business to recruit the right calibre of staff required for the mortgage business;
- Responsible for coordinating marketing, sales and support activities for the business: supply and including the design, distribution of marketing materials to sales staff;
- Responsible for the maintenance of excellent relationships between the business and its clients;
- Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of excellent working relationship between the mortgage business and all other departments in the institution; such that the interest of the business is paramount ot all times;
- Responsible for the training of personnel of the Mortgage Department to ensure their knowledge is always at the cutting edge of the mortgage business in Ghana;
- Responsible for managing the performance of sales staff in the department: ensuring that agreed rewards or sanctions are administered;
- Responsible for ensuring the achievement and maintenance of portfolio quality targets and adherence to agreed Compliance standards;
- Responsible for managing the relationships between the company and vendors specific to the Mortgage Product.
- Responsible for any other task that would be assigned by the Head of New Business or management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
- Must have worked in a financial institution and held a similar position for at least three years, with direct responsibility of Mortgage product design and implementation.
- This position requires good written, oral and reading communication skills in order to accurately obtain, interpret and transcribe a variety of communications, instructions and policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word, ond Excel) is a most.
- This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to think out of the box and the flexibility to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Must be focused, organised and able to meet deadlines
- Must take pride in delivering quality every time.
- Has experience in supervisory/ management responsibilities on Mortgage related projects.
- Excellent knowledge of the Ghanaian small business climate and preferences.
