We are seeking a Service Delivery Advisor to be based in Ghana. The Service Delivery Advisor will provide technical support and coordinate all activities on maternal, newborn and FP/RH services in the Northern region. The Advisor will work closely with the Ghana Health Service to build on and sustain beneficial interventions in these technical areas.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with the Ghana Health Service as well as other implementing partners.
- Provide technical guidance to the leadership of the Ghana Health Service to carry out post training follow up, coaching and capacity building programs at the district and facility level.
- Work with Ghana Health Service and other technical staff to integrate and monitor quality improvement approaches and strategies to improve uptake of maternal, newborn and FP services.
- Provide leadership and support to project staff in the Northern region to ensure high quality implementation and integration of maternal, newborn and FP/RH in the planned activities.
- Represent the project in stakeholder engagements and contribute to policies and strategies that will enhance the achievement of project goals and objectives
- Work with the Ghana Health Service to review service delivery data monthly, identify gaps and design strategies to address gaps.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing public health programs, preferably MNCH and FP/RH. Experience working with USAID- or other USG-funded projects is strongly desired
- Advanced degree in Public Health or related field
- Ability to work effectively and be results focused
- Ability to work to meet deadlines in a multi-task environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams
- Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to successfully lead teams
- Ability and willingness to travel significantly in the region
- Ability to collect and use relevant health data in preparing precise and accurate reports
- A high level of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to balance working well in a team environment with initiative and creativity
- Independent ability to carry responsibility as well as the ability to plan, develop, manage and evaluate important and sensitive programs
- Excellent written and oral communication
- High comfort level writing and presenting data and information in a compelling way to different audiences
- Excellent written and oral communication skills is required
