Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
As a Sales Engineer, you will be combining your Technical Engineering Knowledge, together with your Excellent Sales Skills. Using your technical expertise to support the sales process, it will be your job to market Mining-related Equipment, Replacement Parts, and Consumables, to mining companies in Ghana in the immediate-term, and other countries within West Africa in the mid-term.
You will report to the Technical Services Engineer. Under the supervision of the Technical Services Engineer, you will be linking existing and prospective clients to your employer’s products, by removing any possible technical barriers. You will need to listen carefully to the needs of your clients, and propose ways of meeting these requests, explaining technical issues to them in ways they will understand.
Duties:
- Searching out new clients who could benefit from your employer’s products and/or services, making contact with them, and maintaining a good relationship with them.
- Providing clients with technical advice and training, so that they can get the most from your employer’s brand of products or service.
- Providing an effective after-sales support service.
- Follow-up on sales call reports, sample requests, customer projects and other requests from clients
- Making technical presentations to potential clients at sales or industry events.
- Write visit reports and periodic sales and market reports to the Technical Services Engineer
Required Skills or Experience
- Evidence of having some experience in the gold and petroleum mining industry, as well as knowledge on equipment, replacement parts and consumables used in the mining industry.
- Evidence of possessing an appreciable level of sales experience will be a great help.
- Possession of relevant IT skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English language communications skills. Ability to speak the French language shall be an added advantage
- Good driving skills and must possess valid Driving License.
