The Quantity Surveyor would be carrying out the normal duties and functions which occur within a professional Quantity Surveying office.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for:
- Preparing estimates of construction costs;
- Measurement of building quantities for bill preparation and final accounts;
- Drafting Bills of Quantities;
- Site visits and site measurement;
- Participating in progress meetings;
- Preparing valuations for issue of interim payment certificates;
- Ability to identify, evaluate and conclude variations
- Preparing and concluding final accounts;
- Participating in tender evaluations including comparison of bids
- General quantity surveying best practice responsibilities
- May be required to assist with other responsibilities, deemed necessary by AECOM
Specific skills required
- Knowledge of the programme development cycle (engineering, procurement and construction) and understanding of construction sequencing
- Strong technical, procedure and report writing skills
- Ability to collate information accurately
- Communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Time management and prioritization skills
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 1 years of experience in the employ of an QS or engineering consulting firm
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree of Science in Quantity Surveying
