Ghana economy diverse and rich resource base, including the manufacturing and exportation of digital technology goods, agricultural produce, and the exportation of diverse and rich resources such as hydrocarbons and minerals. The Governments of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ghana have a strong shared interest in moving towards a partnership based on mutual economic benefit. To advance these mutual interests, the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce was established to provide its members was established to deliver of three core pillars of networking, advocacy and trade promotion between members and external partners with an aim to deliver long term prosperity of both countries. As the new Executive Director of the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, you will have an opportunity to have a profound and lasting impact on the UK Ghana business community.
Our Vision: To be the essential business to business platform facilitating the success of SME and large UK companies operating in Ghana and the wider West African Markets
Our Mission: To deliver a self-sustaining platform for all members so that they can market their businesses, obtain essential information about the business environment of both UK & Ghana, make connections and communicate regular advice to achieve their commercial objectives and UK based businesses to increase their inward business to Ghana.
The UKGCC is primed to take a big step forward, and we are looking for a leader who is excited to embrace this opportunity and has the determination and skills to see it through. As the Executive Director of the Chamber, you will be responsible for executing strategies you and the Board have developed together.
Key outcomes include:
1. Developing and maintaining relationships with business, government and community leaders,
2. Delivering exceptional value to our members and sponsors so we attract more of both,
3. Ensuring our events are enjoyable and provide tangible value to attendees,
4. Inspiring the Board, staff, volunteers and suppliers to help support the Chamber’s mission and vision,
5. Continuing to move the Chamber towards organisational excellence, and,
6. Managing the Chamber’s resources effectively.
The ideal candidate will possess:
? A minimum of five years of experience in business management, public or government relations and fundraising,
? Previous leadership experience in non-profit associations, either as a professional or senior volunteer,
? Ability to effectively lead, plan, organise, control details of multiple projects and report status simultaneously,
? Excellent written and verbal skills,
? Proven proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, and social media,
? Experience and capability to manage finances,
? Proven ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships with diverse constituencies in UK and Ghana
? A passion for public policy and advocacy,
? Ability to effectively communicate with the business community, civil society and various media outlets, and,
? Relevant degree or diploma in business administration or management, marketing or equivalent.
Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Chamber offers a competitive benefits package.
