Job Description
Position Summary
- Supervises the overall day-to-day operation of the Preschool center that meet or exceeds all local health and safety codes, policies and procedures, licensing regulation and accreditation standards
- Ensuring a safe, education, and caring environment for the children, parents, and staff
- Developing and leading a model of world-class quality and best practises
- Recruitment and management of teachers, and assistants
- Provides leadership to staff through training opportunities, classroom observation, and performance conferences.
- Development of curriculum, instructional resources & objectives, and learning material
- Develops and strengthens partnerships with local organizations, schools, and industry partners.
- Ensures that the Preschool center meets EYFS standards and GES regulations
- Communicates with children, parents, and other staff members on a regular basis.
- Participates in staff meetings, special events, parent-teacher conferences, and trainings as assigned.
- Maintain a positive and playful culture with staff, children, and families.
- Promoting a positive image of the organization and playing a major role in ensuring the preschool is known for high quality standards and best practices.
- Organising tours and open days for prospective families
- Supporting marketing and storytelling efforts (advertising, blog, social media, website updates, special events, open-house visitation days, and community involvement) to recruit enrolments and keep preschool operating at capacity.
- Managing the finances of the center effectively to eliminate waste and use resources efficiently.
- Maintain records necessary to demonstrate compliance with all regulations, fiscal and human resource management.
Essential Functions
- Manages the Preschool center budget and demonstrates sound fiscal management.
- Maintains all EYFS licensing standards and assures compliance, including records management of staff and children’s files; and assures that the Preschool center meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Actively works to recruit and retain program participants in the childcare center in order to meet and maintain enrollment goals.
- Establishes and maintains an active parent committee; and works with parents to resolve problems and assess participant needs.
- Recruits and retains qualified staff, holds monthly staff meetings, directly supervises staff to ensure EYFS expectations are met, provides performance feedback on a regular basis, and discusses training requirements with staff.
- Coordinates special events for the Preschool center.
- Orders supplies, completes reports and paperwork as required, attends Preschool team meetings, and communicates to staff, co-workers, parents and children on a regular basis.
