A three star hotel located in Koforidua is looking for experienced staff to occupy the above position as Restaurant Cashier
Roles
- Having good customer service skills to maintain a friendly environment and treating the customers properly.
- To handle cash efficiently in the rush hours and should not keep the guests waiting for a long time for the settlement of their bills
- Handling all the cash and credit card transactions
- Balancing the register at the end of the day or shift
- Assist with waiter when the restaurant is busy
- Greeting the guests when they come in and assisting them in finding the right table
- Responsibility of taking the food check from the customers or the waiters
- Providing immaculate service to the guests
- Acknowledging the regular guests when they arrive in the restaurant
- Record refund returns and the daily cash on hand
- Calculate sales and crosscheck the cash counters amount against them
- Recording the sales and the cash amount at the end of the day or shift
- Generally to carry out directives and decisions of the senior management of the hotel and policies of the Hotel as a whole.
Main Duties
- Be proactive in counting money before a shift begins so that there is no miscalculation at the end of the shift.
- Greet and welcome customers entering the restaurant.
- Resolve different types of complaints from customers or address them to the restaurant manager.
- Tabulate data regarding bills, total amounts, restaurant expenses in cash registers or record them in computers.
- Inform customers about modes of payment available at the restaurant. With variety of options to pay money; cash, check, credit card and debit card.
- Answer queries and questions of customers and inform about policies, rules of the restaurant, etc.
- Be alert as well as cordial all the time. They must only leave the cash counters after handing it over to other authorized person or on supervisory approval because they’re responsible for large sum of money.
- Must be apt in handling money, currencies and coins.
- Take restaurant bookings when required during service hours.
- Ensure all cashiering policies and procedures are followed.
- Give assistance to the bar when required.
- Ensure that the cleanliness standards of restaurant areas and storage areas are being maintained
- To ensure that Bar and Restaurant areas are clean and tidy at all times.
- To ensure that telephone enquiries are handled promptly and courteously.
- To be able to produce an almost zero defect system at the Bar and Restaurant
Required Skills or Experience
- HND or relevant experience in a 2 -3 star hotel environment.
- 2 years’ experience as a waitress/waiter in similar position would be an advantage
- Ability to use Microsoft package efficiently
