Job Description
Terms of Reference, Responsible Supply-chain Management Officer, Ghana, International Cocoa Initiative (ICI)
The International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) (www.cocoainitiative.org) seeks to recruit a Responsible Supply-chain Management Officer to support its operations in Ghana.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in the ICI Accra office and under the authority of Country Director and direct supervision of the Supply-chain Project Manager, the incumbent will:
- Track the work performance of Field Staff as per agreed KPIs and work towards improvement of same
- Carry out field visits to project sites, to monitor and propose actions to improve the CLMRS.
- Ensure the time-bound achievement of the CLMRS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Support the development of project proposals and budgets to donors
- Prepare appropriate input to the project reports and publications including annual reports; contribute to other reports required by the Supply-chain Project Manager
- Support the recruitment and supervision of field associates;
- Advise on remediation strategies and follow-up on the remediation activities implementation
- Ensure that the CLMRS is fully established and built in the structures of companies and suppliers and running the system
- Help in identifying capacity needs of key actors and propose/provide relevant training to support them
- Liaise between field staff and ICI Accra office to facilitate efficient information-sharing;
- Ensure that the set-up and roll-out of the CLMRS in the assigned project is done in compliance with ICI’s standards and respects ICI’s policies and guidelines;
- Monitor field activities and prepare periodic reports for submission to partners and the Geneva office;
- Any other relevant tasks in the area of due diligence and child labour in supply-chains
Required Skills or Experience
Applicant must have:
- University degree and a minimum of four years’ experience working on child labour or in a relevant field (agronomy, development planning, development studies etc.);
- Experience working on cocoa supply-chain, small-holder farmers’ development or child protection.
SKILLS NEEDED
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to different contexts and stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience in project management (drafting proposals, preparing budgets, M&E, reporting, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to deliver results
- Excellent organizational and planning skills;
- Be pro-active;
- Excellent knowledge of the cocoa sector and experience in activities related to the fight against child labor;
- Excellent command of the Microsoft Office software, in particular Word and Excel.
