Project Manager – Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC) – Caterpillar Equipment – Ghana – Tax Free Package including salary and bonus, Excellent Career Development, Additional Benefits
This role is a residential role, but will welcome applicants from anywhere around the world.
One of Caterpillar’s most reputable dealer groups is seeking to add more strength to their Project Management team based in Ghana. Due to extensive work in the aftermarket and contract extensions worth $40million US, the CAT dealer have recognised the importance of appointment a dedicated manager to control the maintenance and repair contracts on site.
What will you be doing?
- Managing the onsite engineering team of 140 engineers plus 8 expat engineers
- Taking onsite accountability for all operational and commercial responsibility
- Setting duties to engineers to complete service and repair tasks on all fleet on time and within budget
- Negotiating commercial terms to ensure supply of parts keeps within budget
- Assessing performance of machines on a regular basis
- Identifying and taking action on potential training requirements for engineers
- Lead weekly meetings with all key departments to assess delivery success of MARC
- Analysing and implementing health and safety procedures with ongoing management
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience managing maintenance contracts, service contracts or repair contracts for heavy industry equipment
- Strong commercial experience to be able to manage budgets and collect debt
- Demonstrable focus of health and safety regulations and developing a safety management system
- Experience working with local and expat engineers, providing the appropriate impact where necessary
- Strong customer management experience, negotiating and building relationships
What would be an added value?
- Underground and open pit mining work experience in Africa
- Active Project Management experience within MARC
- Additional product training from Caterpillar
- Steady experience within maintenance and repair for Caterpillar machinery
