The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) is a voluntary, not for profit organization that undertakes advocacy and service delivery in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Ghana. PPAG is a Member Association (MA) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). It is governed by respectable volunteers who are the members of the Association. The Governing body, formulate policies which are implemented by staff.
Job Description
The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) is a voluntary, not for profit organization that undertakes advocacy and service delivery in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Ghana. PPAG is an NGO and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) governed by respectable volunteers. The governing body formulate policies which are implemented by staff. PPAG, a leading provider of information and services, hereby invites result-oriented and committed persons to apply for the following vacant positions to be filled in the Association.
POSITION: FINANCE ASSISTANT
LOCATION: KPARIGU
REPORT TO: FINANCE/STORES OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide Accounting support to the Association’s Programmes and activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly financial returns
- Prepares returns from the facilities for input at the Head Office
- Assist in keeping and maintaining cheque book register
- Assist in taking periodic cash count
- Assist in keying-in Head Office/Facility returns
- Pay all monies collected intact into the Association’s Bank Account
- Assist in preparing monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement for the Head Office/Facilities
- Receive money and issues the Association’ official receipt
Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
Required Skills or Experience
- A Higher National Diploma (HND)-Accounting option or its equivalent Professional qualification with a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience.
- A first degree is an added advantage
THE PERSON MUST:
- Have a good knowledge of accounting systems and procedures
- Have a good working knowledge in the use of the computer
- Have a very good interpersonal, and communication skills
- Be honest, transparent and reliable
- Have high sense of responsibility, accuracy, judgmental
- Be able to take initiatives
- Be a team player
- Have a dependable character
- Be able to work with little or no supervision
- Have the ability to work for long hours and under pressure
