The Centre for Local Governance Advocacy (CLGA) invites applications form suitable and qualified applicants to fill the position of a Research Officer.
Job Title: Research Officer
Reporting to: Deputy Executive Director
Job Description
The Research Officer shall be responsible for the following:
• Undertake research using appropriate tools with the aim of providing information and analysis on a policy issue and its development
• Proposal development and writing
• Assist in the preparation of research papers for publication and presentation at conferences and workshops and writing of project reports, articles and other documents
• Prepare and review reports, manuals and the "Decentralization Eye" for publication
• Organise data for the preparation of proposals for funding
• Prepare write-ups and conduct interviews for the Decentralisation eye
• Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time
Qualification Required & Experience
• A University / Equivalent qualification with relevant work experience. A Master's Degree is an added advantage
• At least 3 years professional experience, preferably in a CSO management, local government environment, international development and development partner sectors
• Knowledge of relevant experience working in the local government sector of Ghana
• Applicants should not be more than 35 years and should be resident in Accra
Knowledge and Competencies Required
• Good data collection and analysis
• Excellent communication skills and good interpersonal relationship
• Qualitative and quantitative data research and project management
• Good analytical and ICT skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure without committing mistakes
