PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
Develops data management strategies and executes solutions to improve the data collection, verification, processing, validation, reporting and archiving of data and information within the international division of Aurum. They are responsible for streamlining and effective alignment of all data management activities and ensuring the high standard of data management is maintained across all divisions in Aurum
TECHNICAL WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include and not be limited to the following
•Lead REDCap implementation and management within the Company, with remote and direct support to the 12 consortium countries
•Serve as REDCap Administrator for IMPAACT4TB project
•Information Management application scoping, planning, development, maintenance and support per program area
•Data usage and sharing of information as governed according to Aurum SOP’s.
•Optimise operational functions through putting in place the required data and information management technology across each operating / business unit having its own unique challenges and requirements
•Research and Identify or develop information systems and technology to support the data management process within specific programs
Requirements
YOU MUST HAVE:
Qualification/Professional Membership
•A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Informatics or Computer Science or relevant working experience
Advantageous
•Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Statistics/Research methodology/ Health Information Systems/ Data Management
Work Proven Experience
•At least 5 years data and/or information management experience at a managerial level
•At least 5 years’ experience in the health industry or research environment
Advantageous
•Experience with various forms of data capture, storage and business intelligence software, such as REDCap, CommCare, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
•Experience implementing data management systems in a variety of environments in Sub-Saharan Africa
•Basic SQL, Python, Java, R, and/or STATA skills
Other Requirements
•Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required to a variety of countries with diverse infrastructure needs
•Willing to work overtime
•Excellent technical ability in the field of informatics and data management
•Excellent analytical capacity
•Proven track record of operational execution
•Excellent business understanding
•Ability to communicate data and information matters to non-technical and IT conversant employees
•Team Leadership
•Stakeholder Orientation
•Aggregate and present data to Senior Management and to relevant Stakeholders
