Regional operating context - Sub Saharan Africa (SSA):
By 2050 the population of Sub Saharan Africa will be 2 billion people, with the majority living in an urban environment. The region is predicted to have a middle class the size of Europe. 70% of the population is under the age of 25, and this demographic will grow at 15% year on year for the next 10 years. Generally the region is becoming more politically stable. There are on average 50 elections each year, many of which are more open and transparent than before. The majority of countries in SSA are developing economies. Gender inequality remains and life for women and girls on the continent remains challenging.
The Role:
Finance & Resources Assistant
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing of invoices and petty cash payments in Ghana, including support for month and year end close, and ensures consistent, accurate and robust financial accounting processes in line with accounting practices and corporate policies. The role will also provide support for the resources function in Ghana office. This is a supporting role in the Financial Controlling and Accounting process which is a key function in the new organisational structure emerging from the Financial Transparency recommendations.. .
Role Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree level qualification in accounting OR relevant work experience
- Minimum of 2 years post grad work experience in a procurement officer or procurement support role
- Highly organised and deadline oriented
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
