Project Overview
The USAID Systems for Health Project (July 2014–June 2019) is working with the Ghana Health Service to strengthen its efforts to reduce preventable child and maternal deaths, reduce unmet need for family planning, reduce childhood mortality and morbidity from malaria, and improve nutritional status for children under five and pregnant women. We are working to strengthen vital health system building blocks while promoting CHPS (community-based health planning and services), strategic behavior change communication, and targeted demand generation to maximize service delivery coverage.
University Research Co., LLC (URC) and its partners share the vision that, by 2019, Ghana’s health system will be sufficiently robust that the Government of Ghana (GOG) and its health workforce, in partnership with the communities they serve, will be able to sustain equitable access to, demand for, and use of high-quality, high-impact health services with reduced external support, especially in the five regions targeted by Systems for Health: Greater Accra, Central, Western, Volta and Northern.
USAID funded Ghana Systems for Health Project is seeking for an experienced Cleaner in the Accra Office. The position is located in the Operations Department. Under the supervision of the Operations Officer, the Cleaner will ensure cleanliness of the office and its surroundings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Clean the individual offices daily including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning glass window/doors where necessary;
- Empty all trash bins where necessary;
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and washrooms using anti-bacterial cleaning products;
- Monitor the flowing of water from the taps to ensure availability of water in the poly tanks to avoid shortage in the case where the main is not flowing;
- Contact your supervisor for all needed cleaning products;
- Assist staff with photocopying and binding of documents;
- Occasionally assist with the other duties as and when necessary.
Required Skills or Experience
- Education: A minimum of West African Senior School Certificate Education (WASSCE) is required.
- Prior Work Experience: Minimum of three (3) years professionally experience as a Cleaner with basic office procedures.
- Skills & Abilities: Job holder must be innovative, good organizer, and have good clerical and interpersonal skills. He/she must be articulate and analytical with attention to details.
