An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Compliance Team for a dynamic, go-getter individual who is client centric, goal-oriented and keen to grow in the expanding field of Compliance.
Individually accountable, operating within a Team, for establishing a compliance framework; including Risk Management and Monitoring plan. Embeds compliance, directly and/or through staff supervised over periods of 3 months to a year. Initiates and facilitates corrective action where required
· Establishes compliance within area by implementation of compliance risk management and monitoring plans. Performs compliance monitoring in accordance with relevant compliance plans. Facilitates resolution of compliance breaches and assists in mitigation of regulatory risk.
· Reports on compliance breaches to line management and Senior Compliance Officer/Compliance Executive.
· Supports the business in implementing new regulatory developments.
· Registered Compliance Officer (with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority) for Financial Services Provider Cat III.
KRA's
Key responsibilities will include amongst others the following:
Compliance
· Individually accountable for establishing a compliance framework; including Risk Management and Monitoring plan. Embeds compliance, directly and/or through staff supervised over periods of 3 months to a year. Initiates and facilitates corrective action where required.
· Assists Senior Management with the effective co-ordination and execution of the monitoring and reporting requirements for the functional area.
· Assists in mitigation of compliance risk.
· Challenges and escalates (within the defined escalation framework) where deemed appropriate.
· Facilitates resolution of compliance breaches.
· Influences on account of outputs is limited to specific assigned functional area.
· Reports on compliance breaches to line management and Senior Compliance Officer/Compliance Executive.
· Utilises relevant legislation and in all probability, the impact of the legislation on the business unit/functional area.
Team Effectiveness
· Demonstrates the adherence to core values.
· Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others.
· Creates a climate for optimal performance.
· Guides and directs staff to achieve operational excellence standards.
· Individually accountable for time, tasks and output quality, over periods of 3 months to a year.
· Manages performance.
· Manages staff (e.g. assistant COs) operating in less complex business units or functional areas.
· Plans & assigns work over periods of 3 months to a year.
· Selects potential staff to sustain customer/ client service delivery, where relevant.
Job Requirements
· Relevant degree,
· 5 yrs relevant experience in Financial Services industry.
