Tullow Oil is a leading independent oil and gas exploration and production company primarily focused on Africa and South America with a portfolio of 90 licences across 16 countries.
Since 2006, Tullow has had interests in two licences in offshore Ghana. In 2008, Tullow was appointed as the Jubilee Field Operator and, working with its joint venture partners and the Government of Ghana, went on to achieve first oil in November 2010. The Jubilee field has become Tullow’s key asset generating significant high-margin oil production. Tullow’s second major discoveries and subsequent development in Ghana is the TEN fields where first oil was successfully achieved on time and on budget in August 2016.

The Senior Communications Advisor is responsible for promoting the reputation of the business and ensuring alignment with relevant stakeholders. The incumbent will support the delivery of reputation management objectives through development and execution of multi-channel communications plans.
Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL) is seeking to hire two (2) Senior Communications Advisors based in Accra to play a key role in promoting positive brand awareness, stakeholder mapping and related stakeholder planning, engagement and delivery as against Tullow Group standards including:
- Assisting with the development and execution of paid and organic PR Campaign strategy in alignment with TGL priorities.
- Proactively coordinating with identified Third Party Advocacy groups for positive TGL positioning to staff, the media, the public, the investment community and related regulatory bodies in Ghana.
- Assisting in the development and execution of media and investor stakeholder engagement plans.
- Collaborating with relevant internal stakeholders to respond promptly and appropriately to media queries.
- Developing and delivering PR strategy to leverage Social Performance projects, Local Content achievements and milestones to enhance Tullow reputation.
- Providing communications support for relevant functional and corporate events.
- Working with agency to maintain accurate records of Tullow coverage in industry media, and prepare reports as needed.
- Collaborating with the Government and Public Affairs, the Social Performance team and other functions to develop information & communication tools to support external engagement on priority issues as necessary.
- Assisting in the development and execution of TGL internal communications plan, utilising internal communications channels including the Intranet.
You will ideally be an experienced Communications professional with a strong background and appreciation of corporate reputation issues affecting the extractive industry, including an ability to build a holistic picture of the key factors as they affect individual operating companies. You will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- First or preferably master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management or Social Sciences with a minimum of 8 years of corporate experience in reputation management.
- Strong experience and proven ability in developing and executing traditional and digital communications strategy
- Extensive experience of stakeholder management with internal and external bodies including Government and other relevant stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
