Job Profile
• Proficient computer skills - Microsoft office software, email, internet, spreadsheets
• Good diagnostic and decision-making skills
• Proven ability to effectively communicate -verbal & written skills
• Demonstrate skills in sales (Our agronomists do not sell products - only quality service) Sales and presentation skills are critical
• Good listening skills
• Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives without close supervision
• Desire to serve farmers and other involved in the agriculture industry
• Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities are not limited to:
• Crop budgeting & planning
• Provide personal consultation with farmers as needed
• Educational/promotional presentations as and when needed
• Keep detailed records regarding fields, farmers, crops and samples
• Generate reports and present findings to management
• Promote products and techniques through educational presentations
• Regular field checks
• Insect, weed & disease monitoring / diagnostics
• Chemical, fertilizer & seed recommendations
• Crop rotation planning and hybrid/variety selection recommendations
• Solicit farmers & increase acres and/or opportunities
• Detailed computerised field reports & permanent record keeping
• Other duties as necessary
Qualification Required & Experience
• Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture with emphasis on Agronomy, crop, soil, irrigation, weed management, agribusiness or other agriscience coursework
• 3 to 5 years in similar or related field
Location: Accra
