About the Role

This is a contract on-site (Ahafo Kenyasi) role for a French-speaking Senior Project Planner at Berves Engineering Limited in the Ahafo Region, Ghana. The Senior Project Planner (Bilingual) will be responsible for planning and scheduling project activities, conducting project control, and ensuring effective communication with our French-speaking subcontractors and labour on-site. The role involves overseeing project timelines, assessing project progress, and coordinating with various teams to ensure successful project completion and delivery.

The ideal candidate must be able to speak and write French and English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Interact on a continuous basis with the maintenance personnel and production supervisors and assist with making good decisions to minimize downtimes and maximize productivity.

  • Act and represent Berves in all meetings with its French speaking client to offer translation.
  • Work closely with the General Foremen and supervisors to ensure projects are being worked on within schedule
  • Work with the Auditors to ensure profitability
  • Ensure down reasons and comments are accurately recorded.
  • Book correct downtime and uptime of equipment/machinery.
  • Schedule daily work schedule
  • Hourly follow-up of all down machines and updates production supervisors.
  • Ensure all data collected and recorded are accurate and valid.
  • Promptly communicate any unavailability of material to ensure they are procured on time
  • Complies with all EHS &T policies, procedures and directives which include correct use of safety devices, and protective equipment, prompt reporting of any hazardous situations, hazard control and elimination and immediate reporting of injury and accidents which arises in the course of work.
  • Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability, departmental performance, planning and scheduling business flow process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in maintenance planning
  • Must fluently speak, write and interact confidently in French and English
  • Must be willing and available to travel to some West African countries when the need arises
  • Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating license
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Planning & Scheduling, Planning, and Project Control skill
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Able to design and implement changes to processes that improve results and reduce cost and eliminate waste.
  • Must have a good understanding and knowledge of preventative scheduled maintenance.
  • Willing to work extended hours to achieve tight deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety
