The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of sales transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to handle money accurately, and a friendly, approachable demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed.
  • Answer customer inquiries about products, promotions, and services.
  • Resolve any customer concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.

Transaction Processing:

  • Scan items and accurately process payments using cash registers, POS systems, or other payment devices.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, giving back the correct change.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.

Inventory and Stocking Support:

  • Assist in checking and restocking items in the cashier area as necessary.
  • Monitor inventory levels at the register area and notify supervisor when items are low.

Operational Tasks:

  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, and returns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at the cashier station.
  • Balance cash drawers and verify daily cash receipts.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in opening and closing the store as needed, following operational procedures.

Required Skills or Experience

  • B.Sc./H.N.D
  • Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems accurately.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and dependable with a positive attitude.

Salary: GHS 2000 - 3000
